The 13th International Natural Gas Conversion Symposium (NGCS13) was held at Xiamen from April 21-25, 2024. NGCS is the most influential international conference on natural gas conversion, aiming to delve into the latest scientific and technological achievements in natural gas utilization and related resources/energy advances. This international conference commenced in 1987 and was organized triennially. NGCS13 in Xiamen marked the second instance of this esteemed conference being hosted in China, after a gap of 20 years since the 7th NGCS held in Dalian in 2004.
NGCS13 attracted over 800 experts and scholars worldwide, including 185 international participants from 29 different countries. The conference featured a comprehensive program with 7 plenary lectures, 82 keynote talks, 126 invited talks, 165 oral presentations, and over 180 poster presentations. NGCS13 was themed "Towards Carbon Neutrality," covering a spectrum of subjects, including the Conversion and Separation of Light Alkanes, Production and Conversion of Syngas, Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS), Sustainability, Materials & Model systems, and Processes and Assessment. These sessions provided a platform for participants to share their groundbreaking work, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. The conference culminated in a closing ceremony, where 10 winners of the Best Oral Presentation Award and 20 winners of the Best Poster Award were announced.
The conference was hosted by Xiamen University, co-organized by College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Xiamen University, State Key Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Solid Surface, Tan Kah Kee Innovation Laboratory, Collaborative Innovation Center of Chemistry for Energy Materials, College of Chemistry, Fuzhou University, Key Laboratory of Mesoscopic Chemistry. Professor Ye Wang from Xiamen University and Professor Xinhao Bao, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the President of the University of Science and Technology of China, served as co-chairs of the conference. The conference was supported by a number of esteemed sponsors, including Synfues China Technology Co., Ltd, Sino-Platinum Industrial Catalyst (Yunnan) Co., Ltd, Rapid XAFS, Ou Shisheng (Beijing) Technology Co. Ltd., , which further contributes to its success and prestige.
